Ojos Locos Sports Cantina Opens in Dallas’ Southside

The new sports cantina opened softly in Dallas’ Southside neighborhood last week. The new restaurant took over the space of a former Sears auto center. Southsiders circulated rumors of the new restaurant on Facebook. Then, Ojos Locos confirmed that it was opening. The address was 7635 Interstate 35 Access Road. The restaurant is owned by local developer Alvaro Soria.

Ojos Locos Sports Cantina is a chain of sports bars in the American Southwest that specializes in Mexican food and drink. Its name derives from the fact that its waitresses wear cleavage-exposing uniforms. Some critics have even referred to the place as a “breastaurant” because the waitresses wear midriff-baring clothing.

Ojos Locos has grown to 18 locations, with fourteen in Texas, three in Arizona, and one in New Mexico. Hicks purchased out his partners several years ago and received an investment from Garnett Station Partners in 2018. The investment fueled the company’s expansion with 10 new locations over the past year. Ojos Locos sports cantina has seen steady growth for six consecutive years and has a $5.5 million AUV.
